The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic, adaptive human resources professional with an entrepreneurial streak, exceptional business acumen, and executional prowess. The HRBP systematically designs an engaging workplace that allows all employee to excel while also acting as trustworthy consultant to our managers in addressing day-to-day employee concerns.



  • Employee engagement and retention: You will continually improve employee engagement and retention through management of employee engagement surveys, focus groups, and interviews. You will provide recommendations and reporting on these topics and will also design and execute programs to drive improved employee engagement and retention.


  • Job design and analysis: You will ensure that our jobs are designed to engage and provide developmental pathways to our employees while delivering strong company performance and a compelling resident experience. You will be the architect and creative voice of our job descriptions and job postings.


  • Employee development and performance: You will partner with the management team on implementing employee performance reviews and development plans to paint a clear picture of success for each role while helping our associates discover the possibilities in their career with Lantower. You will help leadership identify emerging and current top performers to ensure we stretch them to their potential while also helping managers recognize and grow employees in need of development. In addition, you will be a key player in creating and implementing programs and materials to support ongoing employee development.


  • Onboarding and offboarding: You will play a strategic and administrative role in our employee onboarding and offboarding processes. We believe it is critical to provide each new employee with an inspiring start to their career with Lantower and to ensure a seamless transition for those leaving the company. You will be essential in evaluating our new hire and employee offboarding processes and iterating to continuously improve the experience.


  • Employee relations: You will act in a consultative capacity with managers helping them to coach their employees through performance issues and to handle employee relations issues in an equitable and consistent manner.


  • Compensation: You will support and guide the organization on equitable, performance-enhancing compensation strategies and salary benchmarking to ensure Lantower’s total compensation strategy remains competitive for top talent and fair for all current employees.


  • Special projects: The sky’s the limit. You will envision and implement ad hoc projects across the spectrum of human resources responsibilities. Acting as a project manager, you will identify and clarify issues and priorities, communicate and coordinate requirements, evaluate courses of action, and execute projects with creativity and finesse.



    • A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in human resources or related degree; or comparable work experience
    • Demonstrated success taking strategic projects from conception to execution
    • Excellent analytical, creative, and conceptual thinking abilities
    • Experience with suite of Microsoft products including moderate to advanced Excel skills
    • Advanced knowledge of employee engagement, development, and compensation strategies
    • Up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal labor laws
    • A coaching mindset with the ability to support managers in providing growth-oriented feedback to employees
    • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail/quality, and written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Experience and certifications:

    • Three or more years of human resources or related experience
    • Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English)
    • Experience in multi-family real estate preferred
    • Previous success in a young, entrepreneurial company preferred with ability to work at a fast-pace, navigate ambiguity, and build departmental capacity
    • Certification through the Society for Human Resource Management or willingness to pursue
